Edgar (Ted) Averill

       Edgar (Ted) Averill is a principal of the firm specializing in the preparation
prosecution, and enforcement of patent and trademark applications.  He has personally
obtained more than 500 patents for his clients in the mechanical, chemical, optical,
medical, and process fields.  His patent practice includes patent licensing agreements,
infringement analysis, and counseling on validity and invalidity issues in the area of
patents.  Mr. Averill's trademark practice includes trademark searches and trademark
application preparation, and prosecution.

       Mr. Averill has specialized in the areas of patents and trademarks beginning as a law
clerk at the firm of Lyon & Lyon in 1967 and continuing as an associate at Lyon & Lyon
after passing the California Bar Exam in 1969.  Mr. Averill left Lyon & Lyon in 1973 to start
his own firm in Whittier, California, and is an AV rated attorney by Martindale and Hubbell.  
He  is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of California, the United
States District Court for the Central District of California, the United State Court of Appeals
for the Federal Circuit, and is a registered patent attorney by the United States Patent and
Trademark Office.
